Austin Computer Book Club

Winter Book Club Break

Hi, everyone. Here’s a quick almost-end-of-the-year update for you:

  • Last month’s meeting was great – We discussed Steve Krug’s Don’t Make Me Think, Revisited. It’s a classic, and deservedly so. Highly recommended by everyone in attendance.

  • No meeting in November or December – Enjoy the holidays!

  • But we’re back in January – We’ll read and discuss Eric S. Raymond’s seminal Cathedral and the Bazaar. See this post for more details, including links on where to find a copy (they’re cheap, even free online).

  • The poll for our next title is coming soon – For the book we’ll read and discuss next March.

  • ActiveProspect is hiring – Our meeting-space host (and my employer) is hiring in every area of the company: front-end devs, back-end devs, project management, sales, support, you name it. Check out our careers page, and let me know if you have any questions.

  • Come to AWBASH on Dec. 13 – Every year, Refresh Austin brings Austin’s web and tech meetups together under one roof to celebrate the end of the year. We are a co-host of this event this year, which is also a fundraiser for ChickTech Austin. The Austin Web Bash (aka AWBASH) will be on Dec. 13 at Buffalo Billiards. All the details are here; see you there!
